Best Fremantle Cafes & Bars to Take Your Dog | Pet Friendly Freo
Fremantle and dogs: they just go together. We’ve rounded up the local cafes and bars in each neighbourhood that welcome pooches (and their people) with open arms and full water bowls.
East End
Two Dogs Laughing – How could it not be dog friendly? If anything, it’s gained canine kudos since relocating to a bigger premises on South Street. The dog-themed mural and the chilled-out maitre’d (happens to be canine) are clues to how welcome dogs are here, as if the bold, fresh flavours from the kitchen weren’t enough of a draw.
The vast walled lawn area at Clancy’s Fish Pub is a clue to the inclusive vibe at this low key pub with a fish and chip offering that says ‘fun for the whole family’ like nothing else. And dogs are family, of course. There’s loads of outdoor seating and plenty of opportunities for between-course walks.

South Fremantle
When the barista at Amante and Co Coffee steps out to hold a conversation with a visiting pooch, you know you’re in dog friendly terrain. And somehow the coffee still lands, prompt and perfect. Hounds are welcome both inside and out here. Guard your croissant if a retriever wanders by.
At popular haunt near South Beach, Third Wheel, you’re hard pressed not to find a pooch amongst the semi-outdoor seating. Regulars often pitch up straight from the dog beach, patiently making a water bowl-stop on the way in – before they’ve ordered coffee. That’s love.
In the early mornings large groups of regulars congregate with hounds at Roasting Warehouse for a post-walk coffee and chinwag. Almost all the seating here is outdoor and undercover, so it’s a no brainer for dog owners. And the brekkie is reliably good. Rufus vouches for it.
If anything beats an afternoon tipple in the sunshine, it’s an afternoon tipple in the sunshine with a dog in tow. There’s usually a smattering of friendly dogs dotted around the outdoor tables at Percy Flint Boozery & Eatery. Want new friends? Patting a pooch makes a perfect ice breaker.

Waterfront
Dogs enjoy a good portside view like the rest of us, judging by the number of pooches dotting the outdoor tables that stretch the length of the Gage Roads Freo A Shed at Victoria Quay. Western sunshine, a feelgood vibe and the ever-present possibility of fallen fries keeps the visiting pooches here smiling.
