From the legendary Little Creatures in the Fishing Boat Harbour to the celebrated Gage Roads sitting on the water's edge in Victoria Quay, Fremantle boasts a vibrant and eclectic selection of breweries and distilleries.
The craft beer story started in Fremantle in the 1980s with the launch of Matilda Bay Brewery at the Sail and Anchor Hotel on South Terrace. Little Creatures opened their doors in an old crocodile farm on Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour in 2000. A global pandemic hasn't stopped the Republic of Fremantle opening in 2020 and taking out the prestigious gold medal for full bodied gin at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021.
