30 Ways to Keep the Kids Busy in Fremantle this Winter

26 June 2023

Winter’s here and the struggle to keep the kids entertained is real. Luckily there’s loads of fun to be had with the whole family in this Port City of ours, rain, hail or shine.

Let Kids in Freo make life a little easier, as they share their favourite ways to keep the kids busy over the winter months.

Get competitive!

1. Head to FOMO and let the kids try their luck at Strike Bowling, or play some mini golf at Holey Moley Golf Club. When it all gets too much, grab a drink to unwind while they play arcade games at B. Lucky & Sons or Varsity Bar.

2. Or step it up a notch at Timezone.

Let little imaginations run wild

3. Stop by the wonderland that is Paper Bird Books (or book one of their creative workshops for kids).

4. Meet a real life fairy and make a wish at The Pickled Fairy.

5. Get lost in New Edition Bookshop.

6. Did you know the Fremantle Library has a slide inside it? And gaming on offer for the big kids? Enough said.

7. Get amongst one of the family friendly events at the always amazing 10 nights in Port Festival between 10 – 20 August – cue open fires, marshmallows and lots of talented entertainers and musicians!

11. Step back in time at the WA Shipwreck Museum and view the impressive remains of the VOC ship Batavia.

12. Book an ‘Escape!’ or ‘Locked Up!’ tour (especially curated for the kids) at the Fremantle Prison.
