Two Feet & a Heartbeat began in the time-honoured tradition of scribbling an idea on the back of a coaster at the pub. Two friends, who had both spent many years travelling, realised that some cities were harder to get under the skin of than others, especially their home town of Perth. There were stories waiting to be told and places waiting to be explored. A few months after that fateful night at the pub, Two Feet became the first walking tour company in Perth.
Two Feet has evolved to become a multiple award-winning experiential tourism provider, specialising in fully escorted tours around Western Australia including Fremantle. Clients get a unique perspective on the landscapes, people, culture, food and history of the city.
Two Feet & a Heartbeat offer three tours in Fremantle:
- Convicts, Culture & Street Art starts at the Fremantle Town Hall. The walking tour is no boring history lesson, but rather takes a non-traditional route, discovering factual, anecdotal, and downright fascinating local stories, all as you wander Freo’s vibrant cappuccino strip, boat harbour, narrow West End streets and see the landmarks, including the Fremantle Prison and the Round House.
- Crimes of Fremantle Walking Tour explores the dark events that have taken place since colonial times, from riots and theft to murders and mutinies. Meet your guide at the Fremantle Train Station and begin your journey through the dark underbelly of the port to see the locations and hear the tales of some horrific examples of humans at their worst. The material has been thoroughly researched and is delivered with sensitivity.
- Fremantle Food Lovers Tour sees guests enjoy a selection of the best foods and venues, from cheese and charcuterie in a private courtyard, to hole-in-the wall takeaways and uber cool restaurants. You will visit at least 4 venues and enjoy the time to delight in their house specialties.
