Inkling Arts

We have an inkling some great art is going to happen... Fabulous art workshops for children and families in the studio of Samantha Hughes.

THE APPROACH

Inkling Arts have a commitment to providing authentic arts experiences for children, and adults, and strive to build skills in a supportive, caring environment. Quality artist’s tools and materials are used in all of our workshops. Class sizes are small so that everyone can feel comfortable and receive guidance from our Artists.

Everyone is an artist

Inkling Arts aims to provide workshops that inspire you to discover something new for yourself. Whether you are a new artist, a professional or anyone else wanting to make art we aim to provide a safe, inspiring space for your art making and learning.

Everybody is welcome

All ages and abilities are welcome in the Inkling studio. They believe that diversity feeds creativity - just let them know if you’re bringing a carer or an interpreter so we can be prepared. The Inkling Studio is upstairs, please get in touch if stairs are a problem as they will be holding workshops outside the studio later in the year. Note, some workshops have age restrictions so they can focus on different projects.

Good tools make great art

Have you ever tried to colour-in with a cheap pencil? The colour is pale, the marks are dull and it turns art into hard work. At Inkling they believe in using the best materials they can afford – pencils and paints that make bold marks and spark your imagination, crisp paper that lovingly works with you rather than tearing and crumpling.

Inkling Arts work with the tools and techniques that they use in their own arts practice. All materials are good quality, responsive and inspiring. For children’s workshops they use age-appropriate free or cheap (but good) materials so that you can get more of them to use if you enjoyed them.

All Inkling staff have Working With Children Checks.
