Japingka Gallery is pleased to present this two-artist show by sisters Jessie Kemarr Beasley and Jessie Kemarr Peterson from Epenarra community in Central Australia. As senior artists in their community the work reflects their long history and knowledge of the land, ceremonial practices and the everyday activities of family members.
Epenarra is one of five art centre collectives represented by Barkly Arts. It is part of the community of Wutunugurra, which has about 200 residents, and is located near the Davenport Ranges on the Barkly Tablelands. The arts studio is a central focus for the community and the paintings created there represent the surrounding country and the interactions of the local people. The exhibition is presented in association with Barkly Regional Arts
