High Street Gallery was established by artist couple Kiya Kalem and Ben Sherar. Tired of out sourcing artwork to other galleries we took the leap to take all aspects of our art careers into our own hands. It was important to both of us to be 100% a part of the whole process from hand stretching and making our custom canvases, grinding and mixing our own paint and making the frames, to now handling the sales of our art to our lovely clientele.
This gallery space has allowed us to display our work how we see fit and in a way which we feel best showcases the pieces we create. We have pulled out of all other exhibiting spots bar our awesome neighbours at The Artisan Store.
We feel our artworks, even though vastly different in style and subject matter compliment each other very well. We are all about embracing and celebrating our local environment and surroundings so we have very strong bloom to beach theme happening in order to celebrate our beautiful oceans and native flora. To finish off our little gallery space we have hand selected works of different artistic mediums such as wood working and jewellery to help give others the opportunity of exhibiting in a gallery run by like minded artists. Rowena Mitchell has her REM jewellery line with us and at The Artisan Store. We also have some custom wood working pieces provided to us by our friends at Jarrah Corp.
