PREVIEW FROM 2PM
Artist Talk, 5pm on Friday 9 May
The exhibition runs until Sunday 11 May 2025.
10am – 4pm daily
We are wired to find order in chaos—to see faces in clouds and figures in shadows. This instinct, called pareidolia, has guided Laszlo Lukacs’ MILLIONS series for over twenty years. His abstract works serve as both mirror and metaphor, reflecting our innate need for coherence. They don’t dictate meaning; they invite it, letting the viewer complete the story.
Alongside these pieces, Lukacs’ figurative work reflects his classical training at Sydney’s National Art School. Here, technical precision meets the same enduring theme: a compulsion to make sense of the world.
This exhibition is an experiment in looking. It asks that you notice—the art, and your mind’s insistence on making sense of things.
