A wine tasting exploring various brands based in Margaret River
For our next Strange Tastes we’re doing something a little different and travelling South with Ben Allan as he takes you through a tour of some of Margaret River’s best Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon brands. Come join us and learn about six of our yummiest offerings!
First up on the list we have Wayfinder. At Wayfinder, sustainability isn’t a trend, it’s the foundation. From soil to cellar, every decision made is designed to regenerate the land, support biodiversity, and produce wines that are a true expression of place. Wayfinder is proud to be an Australian Certified Organic; farming with the future in mind and creating healthier ecosystems across the property. They are also one of only four Margaret River producers participating in the EcoVineyards Program, a national initiative that advances biodiversity in Australian viticulture.
Next we welcome Swell Season for the first time! Swell Season champions organically grown fruit crafted into elegantly expressive wines. Wines made to be enjoyed with friends and paired with a range of cuisines, as the bright aromas and flavours make them superbly food friendly. As is the Margaret River style, you can also enjoy Swell Season knowing their wines are 100% organically certified.
Adding to our trip is Corymbia wines, run by husband-and wife-team, Rob and Genevieve Mann. The Mann name is synonymous with Western Australia’s Swan Valley, where Rob’s pioneering grandfather Jack worked a remarkable 51 consecutive vintages for Houghton. Rob was just a boy when he joined his father in planting the vines on what is now the dry-grown, organically farmed Corymbia vineyard. The couple opened what has become Corymbia, with the 2013 vintage, and have since become a firm favourite in the Swan Valley. However this week we’ll be highlighting the Cabernet Sauvignon from their Margaret River vineyard, which promises to be a new chapter of this wonderful wine brand.
Finally we finish with a Freo favourite around these parts - Rosily Vineyards. Rosily Vineyard is dedicated to making wines of excellence, that truly reflect the unique Margaret River environment from which they are derived. Established in 1994, Rosily have been producing wines of integrity from their single vineyard for more than thirty years. They believe by respecting the environment, and working with it in a sustainable way they create superior quality fruit from healthy, well balanced vines. Working with this fruit through the winemaking process, ensuring that the varietal and regional characteristics are there to be enjoyed in each and every bottle.
This Strange Tastes is a real joy to host and we can’t wait to explore these exciting, eco brands with you!
