Karla Bidi (Fire Trail) at Perth Festival

30 January 2025
Every year the Perth Festival takes over Perth’s arts institutions. This year, they're also taking to the skies and riverways. Karla Bidi (meaning Fire Trail) transforms the Derbarl Yerrigan into a stunning, illuminated pathway. Large beacons of light stretching from the hills to the sea welcome you to Perth Festival 2025.

Inspired by the Noongar tradition of lighting fires to greet and guide visitors, each beacon is a campfire, a glowing symbol of welcome, warmth, safety and inclusivity. See them light up the night for the duration of the Festival, welcoming you to be part of something truly extraordinary.

No tickets, no theatre seats – just the sky and the beautiful riverbank. Witness these captivating beacons from afar or journey down to the water’s edge and immerse yourself in a unique blend of light sculptures and soundscapes designed specifically for this place.

Sign up to enews at perthfestival.com.au for more on how to experience Karla Bidi.
