Dual Nature Art Exhibition

19 September 2026
Dual Nature brings WA artists Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve together in a coastal exhibition exploring two views of the Australian landscape.

Dual Nature brings two perspectives on the Australian landscape to North Fremantle this October.

Presented at Palette Fremantle, just moments from Leighton Beach, Dual Nature brings together Western Australian artists Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve in an exhibition exploring contrasting experiences of the natural environment.

Running from 13 October to 8 November 2026, the exhibition invites visitors to discover Australian landscapes through two distinctive artistic approaches.

Tammi de Rooy creates detailed oil paintings inspired by the quieter and more atmospheric moments found in nature. Raised in the Wheatbelt town of Mukinbudin and inspired by travels throughout regional Western Australia, her work captures wildflowers, trees, open country and the transformation of familiar landscapes through changing light.

Sarah Eve approaches landscape through Abstract Realism, using expressive colour, layered acrylic paint, texture and dynamic mark-making. Inspired by locations across Western Australia including the Pilbara, Kimberley and Margaret River regions, her paintings explore ancient rock formations, waterways, coastlines and the geological forces that have shaped the Australian landscape over deep time.

Together, the artists create a conversation between the fleeting and the enduring. Tammi's work reflects changing light, seasons and intimate encounters with nature, while Sarah's paintings explore geological structures and landscapes formed across immense periods of time.

Visitors can expect original artworks inspired by Australian landscapes, native flora, dramatic coastlines, ancient rock formations, remote gorges and waterways.

The exhibition is presented at Palette Fremantle in North Fremantle, close to the turquoise waters and coastal paths of Leighton Beach. Visitors can combine their gallery visit with a walk along the coast, time at the beach or refreshments overlooking the Indian Ocean, making Dual Nature part of a relaxed Fremantle coastal outing.

A public Opening Reception will be held on Thursday 15 October from 5pm to 7pm.

Visitors are invited to meet Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve, explore the exhibition and hear more about the landscapes, experiences and creative processes behind the artworks. Guests can enjoy a shared platter while experiencing the exhibition in the early evening near the coast.

For those unable to attend the opening, Dual Nature will remain on display until Sunday 8 November 2026 and can be viewed during Palette Fremantle's regular opening hours.

Whether visitors are interested in contemporary Australian art, Western Australian landscapes, nature, geology or simply discovering something new while exploring North Fremantle, Dual Nature offers two different ways of seeing and experiencing the Australian environment.
