Cnr of Bannister and Market Street, the Cappuccino Strip
SBS / NITV / David Dare Parker
Fremantle's famous Cappuccino Strip played home to Hilda's Records, and Charlie's own home. His beloved record store was especially created for the series and took one whole week to build prior to shooting, with all the bands and artwork that appears in it created from scratch.
Fremantle Oval
SBS / NITV
The Fremantle Oval, home to both the South Fremantle Football Club and AFLW Fremantle Dockers, was also a favourite of Charlie's where he loved to bring his daughter Kiah to kick the footy. Visit yourself on match days and keep an ear out for concerts and other special events too.
Fremantle Buffalo Club
SBS / NITV / David Dare Parker
Located on High Street, the Buffalo Club is a local institution known for its live music and grassroots community. You can catch locals at the Buff enjoying a pint and a game of Billiards most days of the week. In Reckless, June meets private detective Roddy here.
Bar Orient
SBS / NITV / David Dare Parker
The exterior of the show's 'Queen Victoria Hotel' may have been shot in York, but the interior was none other than the West End's Bar Orient. Heritage-listed much like most of the West End, Bar Orient is a favourite for students with regular meal deals and live music nights.
North Mole Lighthouse
SBS / NITV / David Dare Parker
The iconic red North Mole Lighthouse is located at the end of Fremantle Ports, and has a green twin on neighbouring South Mole. A favourite among fisherman and Instagrammers, it's the perfect location for a distinct shot of Fremantle's Port and Harbour. Just ask June.
Downtown and West End neighbourhoods
SBS / NITV
Known for their heritage architecture and some of the best food, drink, music, vinyl, homegrown gin, and one-of-a-kind finds in the state, Fremantle's Downtown and West End neighbourhoods are always ready for their close up. Keep an eye out for the Port's iconic cranes as you peek down side streets too.
The Woolstores, Cantonment Street
SBS / NITV / David Dare Parker
The Elders Woolstores is a rich part of Fremantle's history, standing as a testament to Fremantle's industrial and port heritage. You can't miss its colourful walls!
Swan River Foreshore
SBS / NITV / David Dare Parker
A short distance from Fremantle Port, Fremantle's foreshore is a beautiful spot for a picnic or a reflective chat with your cousin, just like Charlie and Roddy did here. Look out for dolphins playing in the river and finish with a coffee or a drink at Beach St Co or Jetty Bar & Eats.
