Crystal clear turquoise waters and classic stretches of white sand run the stretch of Fremantle’s coastline – quintessential Australian beaches. If you find the temperatures a little cool for dips, look for the pink van at Port Beach and grab an ice cream (10am to 4pm all Easter weekend, no public holiday surcharge), start your Saturday morning with Mala Yoga at South Beach (8am), or just take a leisurely stroll around your favourite to soak in those beachy vibes.
6. STOCK UP ON PRE-LOVED BOOKS
Book lovers – did you know you can pick up literary treasures from $1 this long weekend? Head to Elizabeth’s Queen Victoria Street warehouse for their annual Old Stock Easter Booksale (7 – 10 April, 9am – 5pm)? Their Cappuccino Strip store will also be open during the Fremantle International Street Art Festival over Easter (7 – 10 April, 9am – 10pm) for more treasure hunting.
7. DAY TRIP TO WADJEMUP / ROTTNEST ISLAND
You don’t have to miss out on your family holiday just because you couldn’t get Rotto accommodation. Start and end your day in Fremantle and you’ll be just a short ferry ride from Perth’s local paradise island!
